This spring saw us bring together hundreds of our people at our Power Forward conferences. As a business, we’re moving fast, and with many exciting developments afoot, this was a chance to update everyone on what’s coming down the track, our strategy and areas of focus, as well as our ambitions for the future.

It was also an opportunity to say a big thank you to our teams who go above and beyond every day to provide expertise, advice, and service to our customers that is second to none.

Our 2023 conference was held across two dates and locations - Harrogate and Wembley. The day consisted of presentations delivered by our Senior Leadership Team, along with breakout sessions to get our people closer to the strategy and how we activate and work together to deliver our plans.

The conference was a chance to engage, educate and inspire our colleagues as we shared our exciting plans for the future - all whilst having a bit of fun. The agenda focused on our Energy Efficiency, Bathroom Showroom and Spares propositions, digital and supply chain developments, and our commitment to investing in our people and culture. To bring this to life, we invited some of our key supplier partners along too, giving them a chance to showcase their solutions and have some one-to-one time with our branch colleagues.

After a jam-packed day of insights, breakouts and networking, we held an evening dinner and awards ceremony.

These awards recognised the brilliant talent we have across our branch network and head office functions. Awards were presented to colleagues who had demonstrated our values in a variety of ways with categories including safety, customer focus, innovation, togetherness, sales, digital and branch excellence.

The conference also gave us the opportunity to fundraise for our charity partner, the Teenage Cancer Trust, with £6,438 raised across both conference events. Raising funds for this vital charity brings us together, and helps to make a difference to the work that they do.

Our Power Forward conference forms a key part of our ongoing colleague engagement strategy, with the aims of us all exceeding expectations and providing a first class service for our customers.
